Now that we’re done roaming for a while, we’re back to our normal, sleeply life. Here are the Saturday highlights:

1. Ice skating for a few hours in the middle of the day. The ice is perfect, the best it’s been in years. The last two winters we had only a day or two of skating, this year, we’ve been on and off the ice since Christmas. Today the sky was kodakchrome blue, and the sun was shining. Perfect.

2. My sister in law’s apricot jam buchteln. Or wuchteln, depending on who you ask. Regardless of spelling, this little treat is a small yeast risen bun filled with apricot jam and sprinkled with powdered sugar. When we ate them (with coffee at my mother-in-law’s house, after we got off the ice) they were still warm from the oven.
