Fish Wednesday, Salmon Snackage Edition

This was a bad day. Grown people yelled at each other right in front of me, and refused to listen, and much expense will be incurred as a result. In the spirit of folks who have been in the trenches together, my neighbor and I went for a drink at our local bar, the Hopvine.
I like the Hopvine very much and they serve rather tasty soup, though not, take note, hot enough for my tastes. I believe soup should be steaming when it’s set on the table in front of you.
Never mind. A date with the neighbor was long overdue. Last winter’s renter joined us for gossip, bitching, discussion of politics, and speculation about the sexual orientation of the waitstaff. The place filled up with earnest looking young folks carrying board games - we think it must have been quiz night.
I wasn’t totally satisfied with just the bowl of soup for dinner and I needed a little protein, so I picked up some pepper smoked salmon and crackers before heading home. It was just the extra bit I needed. I also picked up some fresh cod which I’ll make for dinner tomorrow night, pushing Fish Wednesday into Fish Thursday.
