Warmed Up

Hey, are these salad tongs yours? What about that nice cream colored bowl with the green stripe around the top? It sits next to the primroses – we do not know who brought them, either. We seem to have more beer and brownies than when we started – how can this be? We have plenty of good snacky things and miscellaneous bits of leftover salad, yum, though we are a little bit sad that there is no more of that French cheese and that we did not get to try the crumble before it disappeared – we heard that it was very popular. There is a ceramic souffle dish and a pie plate and a little silver tray and oh, hey, there was a gift we found later, thank you very much.

Front Porch

Best of all, our house is thoroughly warmed, thanks to all your congratulations and admiration and affection. You showed up even though you don’t get out much, or even though we haven’t seen you for a good long while, too long, really, even though you had many other places to be on this busy weekend, even though you had to come all the way out here to West Seattle. It was really so nice to see you basking in our sunny back yard, chatting with our other friends, eating a brownie smothered in vanilla ice cream.

We would like very much to return your dish to you and we hope that in order for that to happen, you will come back and stay just as long but with more time to chat when there are not so many people passing through. Thank you for the housewarming deliciousness. It’s toasty here now.

Polaroid taken by Knox as the last of you left our home.

  1. Ciao Pam! Wish I could have stopped by, but was out of town too long. Another time? More food? Yes, please. Congrats on your new abode this side of the ocean.

  2. I think the brownies and beer are mine. I was wondering where I put those. Can you save those for me for when I get down in a couple of weeks?
