Short Story Prompt

A few days ago I stepped out into the backyard and the smell of the ocean was overwhelming. That day, the wind started to blow, hard, whipping up white caps on the Sound. The temperature started to rise, too and it’s been hot and windy since. All of a sudden we’re LA, even out by the water, with a brownish gray tint to the sky, the Santa Anas blowing in from the Mojave, and a gritty edginess that is caused by lack of sleep rather than by too much caffeine.

Welcome to Global Warming/Climate Change. If you haven’t read “An Inconvenient Truth” you should. It’s scary as hell and we’re in the thick of it. I’m making some changes in my lifestyle. Nuff said.

  2. Oh, the Santa Anas… Don’t miss them at all!
