Legal Issues for Travelers: What Do You Want to Know?

April 15, 2008 – 6:36 pm | by nerd's eye view

Later this week, I’ll be talking with a travel rights specialist this week about things like what, exactly, are you entitled to when your airlines goes under or your flight is canceled or your hotel sucks or you get booted off the flight for being too hot (happens to me ALL the time, it’s SUCH a nuisance) or whatever…

I’d love to ask your questions too. If you had the chance to ask about those pressing legal travel concerns, what would you want to know? In the comments, please.

    I have three questions:
    1) How long can an airline keep you in the plane, on the tarmac, waiting to take off, before it has to return to the gate or take off?
    2) If you get to a destination before your luggage does, is the airline responsible for compensating you for replacement toiletries or clothing that you have to buy in the meantime?
    3) How long must a flight be delayed before the airline is responsible for feeding you or providing you a hotel?

THOSE are excellent questions. They’re on the list.
