SUPA: I Will Survive

May 26, 2008 – 10:42 am | by nerd's eye view

Okay, the sound isn’t great, it’s muddy and the acoustics in the hall weren’t the best, the voices are under-amplified, but check it out: Our ukulele club played I Will Survive onstage at the Northwest Folklife Festival yesterday. It ruled.

In case you’re wondering, I’m the bouncy one in the white flowered headdress and the pink aloha shirt, just to the right of center. And that bright, amplified twangy strum? Not the bass, but the loud uke? That’s, um, me.

Oh-my-gosh… what fun! I love the choice of song. Honestly, this was the best possible start to a rainy morning in Barcelona! Thanks for sharing this with us.

You all ROCKED. I was so proud of you all from the back of the hall!

Thanks, all of you. You can’t even imagine HOW MUCH FUN this was.

    HOW! FUN!

    You look adorable.

My favorite is the on the audio (I’m assuming it’s the man right next to you) with the deep singing voice. He doesn’t change his pitch the entire time, he just sings in that monotone for the whole song. I love it!

    Hey, Nerd:

Man, this makes me wish that somebody would start a CUPA.

PS: Just minutes ago, I screwed the String Swing into the wall and hung the black Flea in the office of my new house. I’ll touch base with you soon, eh? It’s been a crazy six months, as you experienced yourself last year.
