Like you, I am against the money going to sports facilities. Unlike you, I bored by live baseball. I did go to Jacob's Field once with a friend who had loge seats. Yes, it's a beautiful complex, and the loge experience is probably the only way I'd make it thru another game. But they kept having rain delays and I just couldn't stay any longer. But at least I can say that I've been to game and know from personal experience that yes, baseball does put me to sleep. ;)

@Lori: Before you turn the hose on us to finally make us stop camping on your lawn and after you move back to islands, we should go to a game in Honolulu.

That would be super fun.

I have been an Mariner's fan since moving to Seattle in 1988. My love of baseball stems from my grandfather's listening to the Hawai`i Islanders on his old transistor radio when I was a kid, and now, M's radio broadcasts are the soundtrack to my spring and summer. Joseph Campbell says the batter's circuit around the bases mirrors the hero's archetypical quest. But I too voted against the stadium measure - I didn't want to subsidize team owners. But since my tax dollars are now paying for the field, dammit, I go too. "The Safe" is a beautiful field with pretty good food. Too bad we didn't win last night.
