Sean is absolutely wonderful! The points he makes should be standard for every blogger/PR relationship (unfortunately sometimes they are not). It takes two to make this relationship work, and it can work beautifully when both parties show respect, and honestly want to help each other. Awesome post!

Thank you for this post -- it's stayed with me all day. I've been working with PR reps since February, and have been on some very cool trips/weekends so far...but I'm basically stumbling in blind each time. It's incredibly helpful to hear there's more (and less) I can do to manage this part of my career, and a big kiss on both cheeks to you for sharing it!

I have to agree - New Media Strategies is a very forward-thinking PR Firm, and Sean is a great asset to them, as well as a great guy to work with.

Great information Pam! I had no idea how to try to snag press trips and become privy to the new products and services coming out in the travelsphere, so I really appreciate this interview and the insight Sean has provided.
