Happy early birthday! I wouldn’t mind getting a new camera either. I’m still using my old 3.5mpx camera I bought in 2005. I’m amazed it’s lasted this long.

1) I’d move the iPod touch up to essential and wait a few months. Word is the next version will have a camera. I used my iPod Touch for about 2 years traveling and it was the best thing I carried with me. I got an iPhone and will cancel the phone service and use it as a glorified iPod with GPS when I leave the country.

2) The thing that sucks about moving from the D200 (which I also have) to the D700 is the lenses. To get the full benefit of the full frame, you need to get proper lenses.

3) I carry a Gorillapod with me as a 2nd tripod. If you get one, make sure to get the large SLR version.

I hope you will get some on your list this year. I wouldn’t mind the Flip Camera and IKEA office furniture myself.

And you’re right, anyone in Thailand can get a cellphone without having to sell their first born child.
