Sunset, Mauanlua Bay

Sunset, Maunalua Bay

A virtual postcard: I can’t say this enough. The best way to see a place is with people who live there. And I am so lucky to have made friends here in Hawaii with people who are fun and kind and good company.

I spent the morning at Shangri-La with Lance, who told me lots about the local arts community.  I spent the afternoon buzzing around Kailua and Kaimuki with Tammi, a Waikiki resident who grew up here. I spent the evening with Bruce and Yaling who took me out in their little Zodiac for a sunset cruise on Maunalua Bay. And today I’m going to lunch with Melissa, who knows a thing or two about local food.

While this morning I’m feeling the wear of being in motion non-stop for four days, I’m also feeling happy and grateful for what’s been another great trip to the islands.
