Five Miles with a Fixed Fifty

Fauntleroy Creek Walk

My pal B. joined me for a Very Long Walk around the neighborhood. I took some pictures with my fixed 50, a lens that makes you work hard to get good pictures. And we stopped for snacks.

I love Very Long Walks with my 50mm f1.4; pictures come out better when you have to think a little more, and the camera is way lighter! So awesome!

  2. The crop on most digital cameras means that a 50mm lens is really about an 80mm lens, which is good for portraits.

Beautiful shot! Feels like I can pull off the sprinkles. Another lens you’d love is the 35mm. Fantastic for food with very close range autofocus.
