Refueling a Hummingbird

Hummer Fueling Station

On June 1, 2014, I attended a hummingbird tagging session at San Pedro House on the grounds of the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. This photo shows a black chinned hummingbird with his beak dipped in to a feeder. This little guy drank — apparently their heads bob when they drink — some of them don’t. After a shot at the bar, the bird is released back into the wild.

I have more pictures of the whole process, but you’ll have to wait until my story goes up.
