The best way to see a place is with people who live there. And I am so lucky to have made friends here in Hawaii with people who are fun and kind and good company.<\/p>\n<p>I spent the morning at Shangri-La with Lance, who told me lots about the local arts community.\u00c2\u00a0 I spent the afternoon buzzing around Kailua and Kaimuki with <a href=\"http:\/\/3littlebirdz.com\/\">Tammi<\/a>, a Waikiki resident who grew up here. I spent the evening with Bruce and Yaling who took me out in their little Zodiac for a sunset cruise on Maunalua Bay. And today I&#8217;m going to lunch with <a href=\"http:\/\/urbanmixplate.honadvblogs.com\/\">Melissa<\/a>, who knows a thing or two about local food.<\/p>\n<p>While this morning I&#8217;m feeling the wear of being in motion non-stop for four days, I&#8217;m also feeling happy and grateful for what&#8217;s been another great trip to the islands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A virtual postcard: I can&#8217;t say this enough.
