Hey you disaffected disinclined expatriates, wanna be expatriates, travelers, and non-travelers out there! Hey! Hello!<\/p>\n

I’ve been listening to a lot of experimental audio<\/a> lately. And I’d like to try mixing a little podcast comprised of stories – a little “This Ex-American Life<\/a>” for you NPR fans.<\/p>\n

Here’s the deal – you send me some audio, then I produce and podcast. I’m thinking about something that’s a hybrid of my recent whine and these soundscapes from Brno<\/a> and, well, who knows. Depends on what you send me.<\/p>\n

There’s only one restriction – the file format. I can take mp3, wav, or wma. I’m not yet set up to work with Apple’s proprietary format – my podcasting software doesn’t support Mac files yet. I recorded my audio clips using the mic on my webcam, that’s how unsexy my set up is. If you’ve been wanting to try a little audio but are nervous, this could be the excuse. Need a recorder? Try Audacity<\/a> – it seems easy and well reviewed and it’s free. You may also have a recorder in your burning software – we use Nero and it includes a full audio recorder and editor. Keep your files simple, please – send me just your voice or song or sounds. I’ll do the production stuff.<\/p>\n

Interested? The theme I’d like to work with is – no surprises here – “There’s no place like home.” Plenty of room for interpretation – ironic, sarcastic, totally sincere… Your story doesn’t have to be spoken word – it could be a song or sound or… my plan is to slice and dice – please don’t expect that you’ll hear exactly what you sent in the end result, okay?<\/p>\n
