And Don George, the crazy human who thought I should join the faculty, literally <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Lonely-Planet-Travel-Writing-How\/dp\/0864427425\">wrote the book<\/a> on travel writing.<\/p>\n<p>What I&#8217;m saying is this: I&#8217;ve been invited to join the prestigious faculty at Book Passage, a well respected writer&#8217;s conference run by the remarkable Don George. I&#8217;ll be joining people like Tim Cahill (the editor of Outside magazine), Catharine Hamm (the travel editor for the LA Times), Spud Hilton (the travel editor for the SF Chronicle, Jim Benning (co-founder and editor of World Hum) and yeah, uh, also, I&#8217;ll be there, and I&#8217;m, uh, the founder of Nerd&#8217;s Eye View, a little blog about travel.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a huge honor, and I remain, honestly, somewhat stunned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a kind of a big deal.
