The Carnival of Cities

May 21, 2008 – 8:21 am | by nerd's eye view

I’m not getting out much – too busy replenishing the coffers and envying our friends who are in New York or Cochin or moving to posh new digs in London. That’s why I’m hosting the Carnival of Cities. If I can’t get there physically, I’ll settle (for now) for a virtual visit. It doesn’t exactly slake the wanderlust, but it does help me remember why I work: to earn money for travel, of course. Welcome to this week’s world tour. And, hey, if you’re traveling, you should send me a postcard.

North America

CatSynth went to visit our neighbor city to the south, beautiful, bike friend Portland in Primary Highways: Oregon.

Dunno about you, but I can pretty much always eat. Marsha Takeda-Morrison takes on a chow hunt in Let’s Eat (and Eat Some More)! My Favorite Restaurants in Los Angeles. Ramen joints? A personal favorite for cheap eats.

Nice roundup, Pam! Sheila’s story about surfing outside of Tokyo reminded me of another city where you wouldn’t expect to find surfing: Munich. Photo and video here: http://intelligenttravel.typepad.com/it/2008/05/national-geogra.html
