I’m shooting a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60. (That’s an affiliate link. If you buy, I get something, but the price stays the same.)

This new Lumix is an upgrade from my older Lumix which is getting sluggish and behaving badly, though I loved, loved, loved shooting it this winter; I didn’t touch my Nikon. It’s a wonderful thing to be able to use a camera that shoots this kind of quality and fits in your back pocket.

Nope, I don’t work for Lumix, nope, they don’t even know I exist. But yeah, I love this thing.

Dandy

I’m supposed to curse dandelions because I have a lawn, but I just can’t. They look like little universes of exploding stars. And a friend reminded me that Carl Sagan’s original Spaceship of the Imagination was shaped like a dandelion seed, so now that they’re mostly blown away, I wonder where they’ve gone.

Gadget Review: Blynk LyfeShot Stop Motion Camera

Too long, didn’t watch the whole thing? At 129.95, it’s a little expensive given that there are free stop motion apps. But it’s fun to use and the results amuse me. There’s more on the gadget here.

Two Photos from San Antonio, Texas

More than once during my time in San Antonio, I felt vaguely like I’d fallen through a wormhole into another time. The top photo is Alamo Records inside the antique mall, the lower is Paris Hatters where I bought a gorgeous pair of red cowboy boots.

Antiques

Two things I did not buy from an antique store in Castle Rock, Washington. A piece of French sheet music that included an add for ukulele lessons. “Learn in 10 minutes thanks to the Francis Salabert Method!” A Blickendorfer typewriter, with carrying case, from the late 1800s. I regret leaving both of those things behind.

Bordeaux Slide Show

Can’t see these cause you’re on some i-Thing? Here’s a link.
